The brake system of your vehicle is by far the most important safety system that it has. Being able to slow down or stop at a moments notice will help to avoid an incident or accident. Improperly working brakes will not do the job they are designed to do and will not be as effective when needed, especially in a panic stop situation.

Brakes should be regularly inspected. At Wilcan Motor Company we measure the brake disc, brake pad and brake shoe thickness, we check for even wear of the pads and shoes, check brake discs for run out and hot spots, check hardware to make sure it is working properly and that it is adjusted properly. Make sure the wheel cylinders, brake lines and brake master cylinder are not leaking, inspect calipers for wear, free movement and fluid leaks and check the level and condition of the brake fluid.

Your car’s suspension is responsible for smoothing out the ride and keeping the car in control. Specifically, the suspension system maximises the friction between the tyres and the road to provide steering stability and good handling. The suspension system also provides comfort for passengers limiting the impact of particular road conditions to not only the car but the passengers riding inside.

The suspension system is made up of several components, including the chassis, which holds the cab of the car. The springs support the vehicle weight and absorb and reduce excess energy from road shocks, along with the shock absorbers and struts. Finally, the anti-sway bar shifts the movement of the wheels and stabilizes the car.
